Working parents looking for a place for their children with special needs over spring break can consider Coeur d’Alene’s Camp Allstars Spring Break Day Camp, running Monday through Friday.

The camp at Sorensen Elementary School will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature outings, crafts and games.

The cost is $10 per day.

Post Falls children can get transportation to the camp on a bus that will leave the Trading Co. store in Post Falls at 8:30 a.m. and return at 3:30 p.m.

More information is available by calling Angie Goucher at (208) 755-6781.

KHS needs pictures of pets

Kootenai Humane Society is holding a 2009 Best Pet Picture Contest and Calendar, asking area pet owners to send in photographs of their pets. KHS will post the pictures to its Web site for people to vote on the top 13 pets. The winning pet will be on the cover of the KHS 2009 calendar and the other 12 will each be a featured pet of the month.

Contest rules/entry forms are available on www.kootenai humanesociety.com. Forms submitted by mail must include a $10 entry fee, an 8-by-10 or 9-by-12 print, the photo in the highest resolution possible downloaded as a .JPG or .TIF on a compact disc, and a 75-word-or-less description of why that pet is important. All photographs must be the property and original work of the entrant.

Winners will be selected in late September from the top 13 fundraisers. For more information call Michael Regan at 818-4535.
