In brief: Pavillion Park concert schedule announced

The Friends of Pavillion Park have released the schedule of bands playing in this summer’s concert series in Pavillion Park.

Local favorite Too Slim and the Taildraggers will perform on the Fourth of July at 7 p.m. before the fireworks begin shortly after 10. Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, known for their popular “Zoot Suit Riot” album, will perform at 7 p.m. on July 26. A dance floor is expected to be set up for this event.

The band WAR, with its mix of rock, funk, jazz and reggae, will perform at 7 p.m. on Aug. 9. The final concert is the annual Lud Kramer Memorial Concert by the Spokane Symphony at 6 p.m. on Aug. 30 to kick off the Labor Day weekend.

The group also sponsors free weekly movies in the park each summer. The movie schedule has yet to be announced.
