Reds 3, Braves 2 (11): At Cincinnati, rookie Jay Bruce had four hits and scored on Chipper Jones’ error in the 11th inning, leading the Reds to a victory over Atlanta.
Cubs 10, Rockies 9: At Chicago, Jim Edmonds and Mark DeRosa delivered key hits and the Cubs overcame an eight-run deficit to rally past Colorado.
Dodgers 9, Mets 5: At New York, Russell Martin went 4 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs and Los Angeles took advantage of a blown call to beat the Mets.
Cardinals 5, Pirates 4: At St. Louis, Albert Pujols homered for the third time in four games and Todd Wellemeyer worked seven sharp innings in the Cardinals’ victory over Pittsburgh.
Brewers 5, Astros 1: At Milwaukee, Ryan Braun homered and matched a career high with four hits, Manny Parra pitched six strong innings and the Brewers beat Houston.
Padres 7, Giants 3 (13): At San Francisco, Calif., the Giants turned a rare triple play in the eighth inning but Khalil Greene drew a bases-loaded walk to score the go-ahead run in the 13th as San Diego beat San Francisco.
Nationals 7, Diamondbacks 4: At Phoenix, Willie Harris snapped out of a slump with a tiebreaking three-run homer to help Washington beat Arizona. Orlando Hudson and Chad Tracy hit solo homers for the Diamondbacks.
