Sustainable cinema

A pair of local and regional sustainability groups plans to hold a multi-venue Eat with Your Eyes Sustainable Food Film Festival Sept. 25-27.

The films “Good Food” and “Shall We Gather at the River” and the controversial Bristol Bay documentary, “Red Gold,” screen at the Magic Lantern Theater, 25 W Main Ave., over the three days, accompanied by a showing of “Tortilla Soup” at The Shop, 924 S. Perry St., on Sept. 27.

Proceeds benefit the Washington Sustainable Food & Farming Network and Slow Food Spokane River. Tickets are $15/per day for Thursday and Friday; $25/Saturday; $45/all three days, available through www.brownpapertickets.com or at the door.

Dirty martinis for clean water

The Spokane River Project at the Center for Justice partners with Mosaic Salon and Spa and Dry Fly Distilling tonight at 6:30 for its annual Dirty Martinis for Clean Water event at the Saranac Art Project, 25 W. Main Ave.

Tickets for the eco-cocktail party run $50 through cforjustice.org. Proceeds benefit The Spokane River Project.
