Power pole, propane tank trap diners on Lake CdA

A power pole fell in front of an upscale floating restaurant on Lake Coeur d’Alene this afternoon, knocking over a propane tank and trapping diners inside the building. Kootenai County Fire and Rescue responded to the call about 3:30 p.m. and, by 4:45 p.m., had secured the propane tank, said fire spokesman Jim Lyon. Lyon wasn’t sure if people had left the restaurant. Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department marine deputies had been asked to shuttle people from the restaurant but couldn’t respond for at least 45 minutes, so the request was canceled.
