Hoppes leads T-C Prep to 1st title
TACOMA – Tri-Cities Prep senior quarterback Will Hoppes threw for 10 touchdowns and rushed for another, leading his team to the State 1B football championship Friday night, 80-40.
It is the first state title for Tri-Cities Prep (11-2).
The 80 points break the 1B title game record of 76 by Pateros in 1995.
Hoppes completed 27 of 33 passes for 552 yards. He also had an interception against Lummi (10-4).
Tri-Cities Prep junior receiver Troy Redmann had six TD receptions among nine catches for 239 yards.
Antonio Ledesma had 10 receptions for 153 yards and three TDs for Lummi
Bellevue 23, Liberty 17: David Nguyen scored two touchdowns in his final high school game, including a clinching, 23-yard run with 2:08 remaining, and the Wolverines (12-2) won their second consecutive State 3A championship with a victory over the Patriots of Issaquah (12-2).
