Holiday displays

Here’s a list of local holiday light displays recommended by readers, with descriptions (where available). Thanks to all those who contributed, and especially to the die-hard decorators who made it

North Spokane

9503 N. Loganberry Court: Deer, 10 inflatables, volleyball-playing elves, trees, wreaths and of course, manger.

10816 N. Moffat Road: The most appropriate Nativity scene I have ever seen. It is set up against a barn and looks absolutely authentic as you come upon it.

10303 E. Moffat Road: Lots of beautiful lighting in rural setting where it just stands out beautifully with many trees, Santa, reindeer.

5506 N. G St.: Neat LED lights on the house and shrubs, cute blow-ups in the yard, all come on about 4:30 p.m. and stay on until 10 p.m.

323 W. Barnes Road: Lots of beautiful, glowing lights, a Nativity scene, lots of trees and deer. There’s also Santa Claus on the roof with his reindeer and Christmas music playing.

4119 N. Cannon St.: Beautiful Christmas light display – lights up the whole street.

1304 E. Sharpsburg Ave.: A beautiful display of red lights on house with lights in the yard dancing to Christmas music.

5030 W. Hoffman Place: Lots of blow-ups and lights that dance to music.

529 E. Cozza Drive: Santa and reindeer flying through the air (by a wire), white trees and reindeer, a Nativity scene, Disney characters, a carousel with animals, candy canes, hot air balloon. Lights on two sides of the corner home.

1401 N. Post St.: Well-preserved Victorian with LED lights and ornaments. Not huge, but nicely done.

3717 W. Beacon Ave.: Front yard decorated with blow-ups, lights, music and moving decorations. As the house is finished there will be decorations on the roof, come back and check the progress.

2523 W. Euclid Ave.: An assortment of lights and figurines.

405 E. Piper Glen Court: Two magnificent, 360-degree holiday displays wrapped around adjoining properties.

1203 E. Kiernan Ave.: Lots of inflatables, 12-foot Santa, 5-foot star 22 feet in air, lights on roof with Santa in helicopter with landing lights, lots of pathway lights. Lots of other houses on the block are decorated also.

4214 W. Sutherlin Place: This house lights up the whole block. Motorcycle Santa, a huge snowman along with tons of lights and other decorations.

5222 E. Woodglen Road: Christmas light show choreographed to music on 100.5 FM; similar to last year. Show runs about 25 minutes. Introduced by two neighbor children.

8002 N. Ash Lane: Awesome light display for whole family. House and yard lights and many, many yard displays with music.

5819 N. Oak St.: Lights done by LeAnn. She does it every year, her husband taught her how before he became unable to do it. Everyone loves it, pretty assorted lights.

1210 W. Hazard Road: 40,000 lights covering two acres in Wandermere. 15,000 are LED moving to music. Tune car radio to 107.3 FM

418 E. Walton Ave.: Lots of lights synchronized to music. Mr. and Mrs. Claus beautifully nestled in heart-shaped window. Pooh, Santa, penguin and teddy bear blow-ups.

Across from Colbert Elementary, lower Greenbluff Road: Three homes in a row, all with tons of lighted trees, deer, snowmen, Santa, etc.

328 W. Park Place: Lighted display synchronized to music.

832 E. Brierwood Lane: A ton of bright lights, reindeer, all the Disney princesses, “Nemo” characters, Mickey and Minnie, Buzz Lightyear and Woody, Winnie the Pooh and even Tinkerbell! A favorite for the kids.

7020 N. Calispel St.: More than 20,000 lights; the yard is guarded by snowmen; the train is coming through the candy cane archway; the soldier-lined sidewalk is the path to the animated bay window; the manger is lit, with the three wise men, and the angel is a-tooting her horn; the carolers are singing outside the church and the gingerbread people are outside playing; packages are all wrapped, under the tree, and Santa’s sleigh is packed and ready to rock and roll.

3823 E. Tanager Lane: Reindeer, trains, M&M’s blow-ups, lots and lots of lights and more.

6720 N. Monroe St.: Intense blue and white LED lighting display.

6421 N. Whitehouse St.: Santa waving and reindeer in sled, Santa falling down the chimney, many trees, Nativity scenes, LED lights everywhere, big blow-ups, angels, moving deer.

Spokane Valley

10806 E. 20th Ave.: Homemade wood lawn decorations, some automated, and many lights. Neighbors’ yards are also decorated.

6415 E. 15th Ave.: Fourteen blow-ups, see Santa in the sleigh being pulled by two alligators, lighted trees, musical trees.

12909 E. 22nd Ave.: Many blow-ups, Christmas lights and music.

19th Avenue and Bowdish Road: Lots to see and hear. Singing mice, Santa’s stable, trees that light to music, penguins, snowmen and even a polar bear.

14617 E. Piper Road: More than 20,000 lights with driveway arches and a waving Santa to greet visitors to this Mount Spokane foothills gingerbread house.

3919 N. Lynden Road: About 50,000 lights all around house. A few blow-ups and a flamingo lane. Lights are on 2 acres in front, sides and back.

E. 20th Avenue and University: Every house on the south side of the block on 20th between University and Glenn is decorated.

14310 E. Belle Terre Ave.: Whole house decorated in lights, animals, trees, nutcracker and snowman. Done in white lights, very tasteful.

15218 E. Kallas Court: Cul-de-sac of lights.

14815 E. Alki Court: Whole cul-de-sac of lights, blow-ups, music.

Keller Road and 16th Avenue: One full block of decorated homes and a lighted tree so tall you can see it from blocks away.

4316 N. Center Road: Lots of lights near Upriver Drive and Boulder Beach.

38th Avenue and Union Road: Corner yard is jam-packed with lights and decorations – too many to describe.

2618 S. Steen Lane: More than 90 figures, many moving, near life-size Nativity scene, house lights and wall lights make this an extremely beautiful display.

4213 N. Best Road: Lots of lights, holiday figures, a very funny snowman and even a telephone booth (Santa doesn’t have GPS, I guess).

10668 E. Springfield Ave.: Tons of awesome inflatables and Christmas decorations (corner of Springfield and University).

5021 N. Sunnyvale Drive: Tons of lights, snowflake and candy cane path lights, yard decorations. Too much to list, some of everything!

12823 S. Fairway Ridge Lane: Many lights and displays.

55th and Crestline: Artistically lighted trees and more.

3107 S. Glenrose Road: Christmas musical synchronized light show with 80,000 lights and 456 computer-programmed channels. Farm animals sing, dance and wiggle, along with Santa flying and also dancing. See Porky, Fog Horn, Chicks, Dom the Donkey, Flying Pigs singing and dancing, a 25-foot, two 8-foot and 20 4-foot trees rolling to the music and much more.

5403 S. Ivory St.: Lots of lights and music.

609 W. 17th Ave.: There is a bicycle covered in lights in a tree. I guess you could say it is whimsical.

North Idaho

2411 N. Titleist Way, Post Falls: Lots of lights and lighted decorations.

8528 Larch St., Rathdrum: Many yard fixtures and lighted trim on house.

8503 Larch St., Rathdrum: Blue-and-clear lights theme. Lots of twinkle colored and clear lights. Santa and reindeer on roof, lots of yard fixtures.

3678 Upper Pack River Road, Sandpoint: Lights everywhere – along the fence, all the trees, house and many outbuildings.

7 N. Kootenai Road, Kootenai: Lots of lights, deer drinking from water (blue lights), large lighted tree and yard inflatables.

Other

30616 N. Perry Road, Deer Park: Very elegant display that is set in the woods. Lots of colored mini-lights in blue spruces with groves of white spiral trees spread throughout the acreage. The lights completely surround the house providing tremendous depth to the display.

Elk-Chattaroy Road, north of Chattaroy Road, Chattaroy: About one-third of an acre lit with a half-dozen fully lighted trees, more than a dozen characters and/or scenes.

12112 E. Atlanta Road, Valleyford: Several blow-ups, unique metal-man Santa, lots of lights set to music and changing all the time.

114 E. Emma St., Rockford: There are 30 blow-ups, several cut-out snowmen, Santa Clauses, flying reindeer and many others. Hundreds of thousands of lights, red archway leading to Santa’s workshop that dances with the music. Come see Santa and Mrs. Claus on Dec. 19, 4-8 p.m.

762 S. Beeman St., Airway Heights: Many, many lights.

614 S. King St., Airway Heights: Lights everywhere, a colored lighted Christmas tree in front yard, a manger scene, three lighted deer.
