Game’s pace an issue

Baseball commissioner Bud Selig plans to establish a study group that will examine on-field issues that could include replay, umpires and pace of game. Selig scheduled a telephone news conference for today for an announcement involving on-field matters but the commissioner’s office did not go into specifics. Selig’s decision to look at how baseball is approaching on-field issues was disclosed to the Associated Press by a person familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity. Video review by umpires and pace of game again was an issue during the postseason. Yankees catcher Jorge Posada was criticized for his repeated trips to the mound.
