Braves defeat Castlegar

CASTLEGAR, British Columbia – The Spokane Braves scored five first-period goals and cruised to an 8-3 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League victory Friday over the Castlegar Rebels (19-13-2).

Alex Lelwica and Tyler Mort had two goals and an assist apiece and Connor Olstad and Joel Stewart had a goal and two assists apiece for the Braves (17-16-2).

Spokane added a single goal in the second and two goals in the third.
