Shock sign quarterback

Quarterback Blake Powers has been added to the Spokane Shock roster for the 2009 season.

The 6-foot-4 Powers finished his collegiate career at Indiana in 2007, where he accounted for 28 touchdowns rushing and passing in 28 career games.

The Shock announced that defensive end Louis Holmes was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the team released former Washington wide receiver Sonny Shackelford, who was picked up by the Mahoning Valley Thunder.

The Shock open their season in the Arena April 3.
