CCS takes over East lead
Griffon Jones hit 9 of 12 field goals on the way to 23 points Wednesday as the Community Colleges of Spokane Sasquatch (13-4, 5-1) took over first place in the NWAACC East Division with an 86-82 men’s basketball overtime win over the host Walla Walla Warriors (10-8, 3-3).
Women’s basketball
Kati Isham had team highs of 22 points and nine rebounds as Walla Walla (12-4, 3-3 NWAACC) defeated visiting CC Spokane (10-8, 3-3) 60-43.
Richelle Daily had 13 rebounds and Meghan Eisenmann scored 11 points for CCS.
Hockey
Tyler Mort scored four goals and Alex Lelwica added two, including the winner in overtime, as the Spokane Braves (21-24-2) posted a 6-5 win over the visiting Castlegar Rebels (24-15-4) in KIJHL play at Eagles Ice-A-Rena.
