The owner of the La Bella Wedding Chapel at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel-casino told the Associated Press on Tuesday that the former heavyweight champion and his bride, Lakiha Spicer, exchanged vows Saturday in a short, private ceremony.
Honored University of Washington pitcher Danielle Lawrie of Washington won the Honda Award as the nation’s top college softball player. The junior from Canada helped send the Huskies to their first national championship. Lawrie had a nation-leading 42 wins and 521 strikeouts. The 5-foot-7 right-hander redshirted during the 2008 season to play for her country at the Beijing Olympics.

Sentenced Former Chicago Bear Roland Harper, 56, was sentenced to a year of house arrest for acting as a front man in a $1.5 million fraud involving a landscaping contract for Chicago public schools. U.S. District Judge John W. Darrah also required the former fullback to perform 200 hours of community service and pay $25,000 in restitution and forfeit $50,000.
Returns Star point guard Scottie Reynolds, who led Villanova to a Final Four appearance in March, announced he has removed his name from the NBA draft and will return for his final college season. Reynolds averaged 15.2 points per game last season.

Died Former defensive lineman Pio Sagapolutele, who played five years for Cleveland and started in the 1997 Super Bowl for New England, has died. He was 39. His death was confirmed by the Patriots. The Plain Dealer of Cleveland said he died Saturday of an aneurism in Chandler, Ariz.
