Power, traffic lights back on
Traffic lights are back on and power restored in north-central Spokane after a bird flew into one of the utility company’s substations, officials said.
Earlier, 6,200 customers did not have electricity, said Avista spokeswoman Debbie Simock.
In recent days, residents in the north-central Spokane area have experienced several power outages, officials said. “It’s a variety of reasons,” Simock said. It’s the construction season, and sometimes outages are caused by that.
A car hit a pole on Sunday knocking out power to about 1,000 people.
