Idaho falls to Nevada

MOSCOW, Idaho – Shavon Moore finished with a double-double and added four blocked shots to propel the Nevada Wolf Pack to a 57-39 romp over the Idaho Vandals in a Western Athletic Conference women’s basketball game on Wednesday.

Moore scored 11 and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds to help Nevada (15-13, 9-6) pull into a third-place tie with Idaho (12-14, 9-6) and Boise State in the conference standings.

Dellena Criner added 11 points and seven rebounds for Nevada, which held Idaho to 18.2 percent shooting (4 of 22) from the floor in taking a 28-16 lead at halftime.

Yinka Olorunnife paced Idaho with 14 points, but she connected on just 5 of 17 shots from the floor. Shaena Kuehu scored eight on 2-of-12 shooting and tied Derisa Taleni with a team-high seven rebounds. Taleni was 0 for 6 from the floor.

Idaho didn’t fare much better shooting in the second half – hitting at a 32.3 percent clip. On the night, the Vandals made just 14 of 53 shots (26 percent).

Nevada swept the season series, winning 69-53 in Reno in mid-February.

The Wolf Pack dominated the boards by a 49-30 margin in a game they led from start to finish.

Idaho closes out WAC regular-season play Saturday with a game at Boise State, while Nevada hosts Hawaii.

Utah State is a half-game back of the trio in the race for third place.
