Man shot by police remains hospitalized
The man shot by Spokane Valley police Friday remains in stable but serious condition at a local hospital, police said today.
The 27-year-old man had been described as suicidal when officers arrived to his home at 4727 E. Third Ave. about 12:40 p.m, according to the Spokane Police Department.
Witnesses said one officer was armed with a shotgun, the other with a handgun. Both fired their weapons; police haven’t said how many times.
A neighbor said he heard five gunshots and said shots came through a side wall of his house. SPD is investigating.
