Pac-10 picks  I Vince Grippi

The season is winding down, and with it so do our chances to move into the plus category versus the spread.

Well, we always say the listed line is for your entertainment purposes only. And laughing at our picks is entertaining, right?

At least we have our fingers on the pulse of the Pac-10, what with our 72 percent overall winning percentage. Don’t laugh, I never got that many right in math class.

As always, the listed line is for your entertainment purposes only.

Arizona State at UCLA (UCLA by 41/2): Will anyone score? The Bruins’ offense won’t be confused with the Colts, and ASU doesn’t know who will play quarterback. UCLA 12-9.

Oregon at Arizona (UO by 6): To decide who will win, you might want to figure in the chance the Ducks’ Jeremiah Masoli could miss time. Oregon seems to lose a quarterback every trip to Tucson. Oregon 45-35.

California at Stanford (Stanford by 7): Throw out the records. This is a big game, and “The Big Game.” We’ve been riding Stanford all year. No reason to get off now. Stanford 42-31.

Oregon State at Washington State (OSU by 31): There are only two questions here. Will it snow like winter in the Andes and will Mike Riley call off the dogs? History tells us the answer to both will be no. OSU 49-14.

Last week: 4-1 overall, 2-3 vs. spread. Season: 46-18 overall, 26-32 vs. spread.
