Call for artists

WeCycle Art Challenge – Metal-working artists are encouraged to create designs for bicycle racks constructed from recycled materials as part of the WeCycle Art Challenge coordinated by North Idaho College students. Designs must be 36- by 30- by 6-inches and hold five bikes, and will be judged according to functionality, durability and aesthetic appeal. Entry deadline is Dec. 8. Japan Week Spokane Art Contest – Artists are invited to submit original work that represents the spirit of Japan, ancient or modern. Colors are limited to black and one other color of the artist’s choice; any size will be accepted but artwork will need to be formatted to insert size of 9 by 13 inches. Artist’s first and last name, phone number, address, and e-mail must be on the back of the submitted artwork. Winning design will receive $250 and be featured in Artist Spotlight section of www.japanweekspokane.com. Call for writers

Artist Trust 2010 EDGE Program for Writers – Accepting applications for The EDGE Program, a hands-on, interactive curriculum which includes instruction by professionals as well as specialized presentations, panel discussions and assignments. Applicants must live in Washington state and cannot be enrolled in a graduate- or undergraduate-degree program.
