Another student falls from UI fraternity window
A 19-year-old woman fell from the third story of a University of Idaho fraternity early today, the second such fall in less than two weeks.
Amanda Andaverde was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle from Kootenai Medical Center “due to the severity of her injuries,” according to the Moscow Police Department.
Andaverde, a sophomore majoring in animal and veterinary science, fell about 27 feet from a window at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, 920 Deakin Ave., at 1:10 a.m., police said.
She was drunk, and there was a party at the fraternity Wednesday night, said Assistant Police Chief David Duke.
“There were several events on campus,” Duke said. “We’re trying to identify who might have provided alcohol to her and where, and then we’ll take appropriate action.”
Andaverde’s condition at Harborview wasn’t available this morning.
On Aug. 29, UI student Shane Meyer, 20, of Boise, fell three stories from a window of the Delta Tau Delta. He remains in serious condition at Harborview.
