Brown moves to line
In a surprise position change, Eastern Washington University has moved senior Brynsen Brown, a second-team All-Big Sky Conference wide receiver for the Eagles last fall, to defensive end.
Coach Beau Baldwin, in confirming the change, said Brown is adapting well to his new position and is expected to see at least limited action on EWU’s defensive front in Saturday’s conference opener against Northern Colorado.
“(Defensive line coach) Ryan Sawyer said he wishes he would have had him … from the start. He’s doing great,” Baldwin said of the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Brown, who caught 50 passes for 733 yards and four touchdowns as a starting wideout last season, but played as a backup behind freshman Nicolas Edwards in Eastern’s first two games this fall.
