Pedestrian killed, driver injured in Idaho crash
An 18-year-old driver struck and killed a 22-year-old pedestrian early Monday in DeSmet, Idaho, and alcohol is believed to be involved, according to Idaho State Police.
Andrea M. George, of DeSmet, was airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane after her 2002 Honda Civic hit Patrick A. Gourneau, of Tensed, Idaho.
The crash occurred as George crested a hill on DeSmet Road at Ajot Road – a residential area – about 5:56 a.m.
Gourneau was pronounced dead at the scene. George is listed in serious condition at Sacred Heart.
George’s passenger, Ashley A. Justice, 20, was not injured, state police said.
