Indians sweep Bantams

Alison Holst pitched a one-hitter in the opener as Colville swept visiting Clarkston 2-0, 7-4 in Great Northern League softball play Wednesday.

Amanda Hamilton had two hits, including a homer, for the Indians (10-0, 8-0) in the second game. Two Clarkston errors opened the door to Colville’s five-run second.

Colville scored two runs on three singles during the seventh inning of the opener.

Riley Swanson of the Bantams (6-5, 4-4) struck out five in the opener.

•Richelle Ashburn and Rachel Collins pitched and hit Post Falls (10-5) toward a 13-0, 14-0 nonleague sweep of visiting Moscow (1-11). Ashburn threw a five-inning perfect game and had five runs batted in, including a three-run homer, in the opener. Ashburn struck out all 15 batters she faced. Collins threw a three-hitter with nine strikeouts during the five-inning second game. Collins had four RBIs, including a three-run homer.
