The 38-year-old Delgado has not played in the majors since May 2009 for the New York Mets. He has had two hip surgeries since then.

Luis Gonzalez has become the first player to have his number retired by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Arguably the most popular player in Arizona’s short history, the player known as “Gonzo” stood at home plate with family and friends as his No. 20 was unveiled above the right-field stands at Chase Field before Saturday’s game against San Diego.
