Woman shot, killed in North Side home

From Staff And Wire Reports

A woman was shot to death Sunday at a home in the 800 block of East Augusta Avenue in what police said appeared to be a case of domestic violence.

Police found a male suspect near the home and took him into custody, said Spokane Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer DeRuwe.

There are no other suspects. Police were withholding the identities of the victim and suspect Sunday.

The attack occurred about 1:30 a.m. at the home north of Gonzaga University. Police said no Gonzaga students, staff or faculty were involved.

It was unclear if anyone other than the victim and the suspect were at the home at the time of the shooting.

The crime remained under investigation late Sunday, and no other information was available.
