Police seek man who attempted to rob cashier
A man claiming to have a gun attempted to rob a Spokane Valley McDonald’s on Thursday.
Employees at the restaurant at South Havana and East Sprague said the man approached the counter about 5:10 p.m., and demanded cash, said Sgt. Dave Reagan, Spokane Valley police spokesman.
An employee told the suspect he would not, or could not open the till, and the would-be robber fled southeast on foot, Reagan said. No weapon was seen.
The suspect was seen jumping a fence at the Loma Vista Apartments south on Havana, police said. He was described as white, in his late 30s or 40s, six feet tall, 250 pounds, with short brown hair. He was wearing sunglasses, a camouflage baseball cap, tan button-up shirt over a white T-shirt, and blue jeans.
