Region’s water levels high after recent storms

The Spokesman-Review

All that rain has area rivers running a bit high.

The National Weather Service on Saturday reported that the Kootenai River at Bonners Ferry, the Moyie River at Eastport, and Lake Pend Oreille will continue to run high through the weekend. The Kootenai is expected to hit 62 feet – just 2 feet below flood stage – by next weekend. Lake Pend Oreille at Hope was at 2,060, 4 feet below flood stage – at midnight Friday.

The Moyie should hit 8 feet, below the flood stage of 9 feet, today and recede Monday.
