Report of gunfire closes U.S. 95 near Potlatch

POTLATCH, Idaho – Authorities closed U.S. Highway 95 south of Potlatch for about half an hour Saturday after a motorist reported a bullet hit his pickup truck.

Sgt. Damon Carpenter of the Latah County Sheriff’s Office said investigators determined the bullet came from an oncoming vehicle that continued driving north.

Carpenter said police in the region were alerted to look for a brown pickup truck.
