Your week

YOUR HEALTH

Think you’re safe using electronic cigarettes? You might want to think again, according to a new report in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

According to the piece published last week, the Food and Drug Administration found small amounts of a dangerous solvent in some of the battery-powered cigarette substitutes, as well as nicotine in an e-cigarette billed as nicotine-free.

The authors also expressed concern that e-cigarettes could encourage youngsters to take up the habit.

A new additive promises to turn latex paint or primer into an odor eater.

ZorbX Odor Remover Paint Additive penetrates the surface you’re painting and permanently removes its odors, such as cigarette smoke, pet urine and musty smells, according to the manufacturer.

It can be ordered at www.zorbx.com. Two 3 1/2-ounce jars, enough for two gallons of paint, cost $14.99 plus shipping.
