Titans win in shootout

Annie Brynn Stauffer scored in regulation and added a goal in the shootout as the University girls soccer team (4-2, 2-2) defeated Mt. Spokane (6-3, 2-2) 2-1 Friday after winning the shootout 4-3 in Greater Spokane League play at U-Hi. Allie Floyd had the lone regulation goal for the Wildcats.

In other GSL action, Madisen Stewart scored her first goal in the opening minute, going on to tally three goals for the hat trick to lead host Lewis and Clark (10-0-1, 4-0) to a 5-0 shutout of North Central (1-7, 1-3) at Hart Field. … Alex Richardson scored in the 48th minute to snap a 1-1 tie and Central Valley (7-2, 2-2) edged Shadle Park (7-2, 2-2) 2-1 at CV. Assisting the Bears’ second goal was Kaleigh Fox, who also supplied their first goal in the opening minute against the Highlanders. … Mikayla Anderson scored an unassisted goal in the 46th minute to lift Mead (9-0-1, 4-0) to a 1-0 victory over Gonzaga Prep (7-3, 1-3) at Mead. … Emily Sejeran and Madi Miley each had a goal and an assist and host Ferris (5-2-1, 2-2) cruised to a 5-0 win against Rogers (1-5, 0-4).

• Intermountain: Kate Owens had a pair of goals and Orofino (2-3, 2-3) shut out St. Maries (0-6-1, 0-4-1) 3-0 in St. Maries.

Boys soccer

• Intermountain: Pablo Villalobos and Ian Heath each supplied goals for St. Maries as the host Lumberjacks (4-2-3, 2-2-1) beat Orofino (0-3-1, 0-2-1) 2-0.

Volleyball

• GSL: Mercedes Montoya had nine kills and three aces and Malea Webb added 22 assists as Lewis and Clark (1-4) swept North Central (0-5) 3-0 at LC.
