Sports letters: Rings deserved

Regarding the “He said it” topic on page 2 (Oct. 7): I view you (Adam Morrison) deserving of NBA championship rings as you were a vital part of the Los Angeles Lakers’ teams.

Remember this: You prepared the starting five every day for two years in practice in addition to teammates who sat on the bench. It takes a team to win any type of championship, ranging from Little League to any high school, college or major league sports. And to those athletes, I pay homage to all of you who sat on the bench as you all are the real heroes of the sports world.

Adam Morrison, listen to your heart and your mind, not what others think of you or your rings. And if there should be a need to not have your two NBA championship rings, you can give one to your dad and the other to your mom – the real heroes in your life.

And remember, the final measure of your life won’t be how well you live, but how well others live because of you.
