Missing couple found dead after motorcycle accident

Two missing people were found dead Monday evening, the vicitims of a Hayden Lake motorcycle accident, Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies said. Virginia L. Acker, 64, of Pasco, and Gary E. Otterness, 40, of Onalaska, Wash., were found about 100 feet down an embankment from the scene of the accident on Hayden Lake Road near Rhapsody Lane. On Monday, sheriff’s department rescue crews, as well as a helicopter from Spokane County, searched several roads around Hayden Lake for the missing couple. The couple left Camp Mivoden on Saturday and were expected back sometime Saturday night. The victims were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, the Sheriff’s Department said.
