Church schedules filled with variety of events

With school under way and Labor Day in the rearview mirror, several Spokane Valley churches are planning to kick off their fall programs with special events on Sunday.

• The new schedule at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will include worship at 8, 9 and 10 a.m. with adult education at 9 a.m. and Sunday school at 10 a.m. This Sunday there will be a Grandparent’s Day potluck at 11 a.m. following the last service.

During the morning there will be a book sale to benefit the Books for Belize program. The church is at 15319 E. Eighth Ave.

• Sunday is Rally Day at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 115 N. Raymond Road. There will be Sunday school classes offered during the 9 and 11 a.m. worship services.

• The fall schedule of services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. begins Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church, 8304 E. Buckeye Ave. The Sunday School Club kickoff will begin at 9:45 a.m. There will be music and crafts to launch the fall season.

Celebration Sunday

The congregation of the Veradale United Church of Christ will host a Recovenanting Liturgy at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday to renew their covenant to serve God. The special service will be followed by a potluck lunch. All are invited to attend and bring a dish to share. The church will provide beverages.
