Montana State’s Craney suspended one game
HELENA – The Big Sky Conference has suspended Montana State safety Jordan Craney for Saturday’s game at Sacramento State, the conference announced Tuesday.
Commissioner Doug Fullerton says the senior from Pocatello was suspended for his hit above the shoulders on a defenseless Eastern Washington receiver. The violation happened with just more than 9 minutes left in the second quarter of MSU’s 30-7 win.
Craney was penalized for the hit. Fullerton says a review of the video from the game showed the hit also merited a one-game suspension.
This is the second straight week an MSU player has been suspended. Defensive lineman Jason D’Alba was suspended for the EWU game for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Drake’s quarterback a week earlier.
