A mild transition from fall to winter

Another week of relatively mild weather is in the forecast as fall turns to winter. A few days may bring some snow in the Inland Northwest, including Wednesday, Friday and Christmas Day. Temperatures this week will vary between highs in the low-to-mid-30s, to lows in the low-to-mid-20s, according to the National Weather Service. Wednesday night looks to be the coldest: 15 in Spokane and 18 in Coeur d’Alene. The weekend forecast calls for partly sunny skies on Christmas Eve, with a high near 33 in Spokane, 36 in Coeur d’Alene. That night the temperature will be in the mid-20s. Christmas Day could bring a 20 percent chance of snow and mostly cloudy skies, with highs around 33-35.
