Preps roundup: Presley propels Bullpups

Tia Presley scored half of her game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter as Greater Spokane League-leading Gonzaga Prep held off University 60-49 in a physical game at U-Hi.

Presley also had eight rebounds and three assists as the Bullpups improved to 8-1 overall, 7-0 in league. Teammate Lindsay Stockton added 15 points.

Hallie Gennett led U-Hi (5-4, 4-3) with 16 points.

North Central 44, Central Valley 40: The host Indians (5-4, 4-3) got just their second victory in the 68-game history against the Bears (3-6, 3-5).

Tara Van Weerdhuizen had 19 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots and Riley Holsinger added 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists for NC. Holsinger also made 10 of 11 free throws.

Brooke Gallaway scored nine of her team-high 15 points for CV in the fourth quarter.

NC’s lone previous win over CV came Feb. 17, 1987 (50-48).

Shadle Park 67, Ferris 53: Aleisha Hathaway led three Highlanders (7-2, 6-1) in double figures with 18 points in the win over the host Saxons (1-7, 0-7).

Ferris was 0 for 14 from the field in the second quarter. Katara Belton-Sharp led the Saxons with 16 points.

Lewis and Clark 76, Rogers 15: Devyn Galland led the Tigers (7-1, 7-1) with seven rebounds, five assists and five steals in the home win over the Pirates (0-8, 0-7).

Mead 52, Mt. Spokane 46: Taylor Ingebritsen had a game-high 25 points, including five 3-pointers, and Kalee Junkermier had 12 to lead the visiting Panthers (6-3, 4-3) over the Wildcats (3-5, 2-5).

Kennadie Clute led Mt. Spokane with 12 points and six assists.
