Eastern Washington Eagles outlook

RECORD: 5-14 overall, 2-5 Big Sky

COMING UP: Tonight vs. Portland State (SWX), 7 p.m.; Saturday vs. Idaho State, 7 p.m.

OUTLOOK: With its defensive identity becoming more firmly established, Eastern hopes to shore up some offensive issues when it takes on Big Sky rivals PSU and ISU in back-to-back home games. The Eagles, after shooting just 21 percent (4 for 19) from 3-point range in last Saturday’s 57-55 road loss to Sacramento State, need a bounce-back win a big way. Working in Eastern’s favor is the fact that PSU comes in having won only one of its seven road games this year. Idaho State boasts two of the Big Sky’s most consistent scorers in guard Broderick Gilchrest (15.0 ppg) and 7-foot center Deividas Busma (12.3 ppg).
