Washington State Cougars outlook

RECORD: 14-6 overall, 4-4 Pac-10

COMING UP: Sunday vs. Washington (FSN), 7 p.m.

OUTLOOK: More missed shots than the Cougars could have imagined added up to one big missed opportunity last Saturday at home versus Arizona. The 65-63 defeat left WSU at .500 in conference play entering rivalry week. The first-place Huskies (7-1, 15-4) are the lone ranked Pac-10 team (18th). Isaiah Thomas, thrust into the point guard role when Abdul Gaddy went down with a knee injury, has averaged 9.2 assists and 20.2 points in the six games since Gaddy was hurt. Washington, paced by Matthew Bryan-Amaning’s 7.7 a game, leads the Pac-10 in rebound margin, averaging almost seven more than its opponents.
