Lakeside captures final league meet
Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) dominated the final Greater Spokane League gymnastics meet of the season Thursday night as five teams competed at Lewis and Clark.
Anandae Egland won three events and the all-around and teammate Davina Carr took the uneven bars as the Eagles piled up 145.125 points to edge the host Tigers (144.625) and Ferris (142.25).
Egland won the balance beam (9.25), floor exercise (9.0) and vault (9.3) on the way to 36.25 all-around points. Carr scored 9.0 on the bars to hold off Egland (8.7) and LC’s Lily Hoch (8.6).
Hoch was second in the all-around at 35.75.
University won the league title Wednesday by defeating Mead.
GSL teams now split into various postseason tournaments in an attempt to qualify for the Feb. 18-19 state meet at the Tacoma Dome. The 3A/2A regional is Feb. 11 at U-Hi. The 4A regional is the following day, also at U-Hi.
League champion U-Hi will be in the 3A/2A classification while second-place Mead will compete against 4A teams.

Kellogg 58, Bonners Ferry 53: Nick Serrano led three players in double figures with 16 points as the Wildcats (11-4, 3-2) edged the host Badgers with a 20-14 fourth quarter. Mat Evans led the Badgers (1-10, 0-3) with 19 points, four rebounds and two steals.
St. Maries 59, Timberlake 41: Ian Heath and Warren Joiner combined for 26 points and 12 rebounds to guide the host Lumberjacks (13-2, 4-0) past the Tigers (2-13, 0-4).
North Star League
Lakeside 54, Mullan 10: Andrew Boyd led a balanced scoring attack with 11 points and Jamie Flemming had six of the team’s 31 steals as the host Knights (9-4, 6-0) defeated the Tigers (1-11, 1-4) at Plummer. Mullan had 37 turnovers.
Central Washington 2B
Lake Roosevelt 72, Liberty Bell 35: Ty Egbert finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds as the visiting Raiders (13-2, 8-0) defeated the Mountain Lions at Twisp.

Lakeside 59, Mullan 37: Joelle and Shannon Miller shot a combined 14 for 18 from the field on the way to 36 points as the host Knights (12-4, 4-2) defeated the Tigers (3-8, 1-4) at Plummer. Kami McKinnon led Mullan with 17 points.
Clark Fork 43, Kootenai 27: The host Wampus Cats (10-6, 5-2) defeated the Warriors (0-11, 0-5). No details were reported.
Nonleague
Timberlake 42, Sandpoint 23: Cassie Thompson scored 16 points to guide the host Tigers (15-3) past the Bulldogs (7-12) at Spirit Lake. Timberlake posted its 12th consecutive win. Sandpoint shot 9 of 50 from the field.
Central Washington 2B
Lake Roosevelt 64, Liberty Bell 33: Jada Desautel finished with 19 points and eight assists to carry the visiting Raiders (9-6, 7-1) past the Mountain Lions at Twisp.
