Injured Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom has a small fracture to the cannon bone in his left hind leg that will keep him out of action for several weeks. Animal Kingdom had scans of the leg after a disappointing finish in the Belmont Stakes. Animal Kingdom was bumped at the start of the Belmont by Isn’t He Perfect and nearly fell. He recovered to finish sixth.

Committed Highly recruited high school prospect Chad Kelly, nephew of Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, on Thursday committed to play for the Clemson Tigers. And like his uncle, who starred for the Buffalo Bills, Kelly has great size – he’s listed at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds. He has also proven to be a dual threat as a passer and runner. He finished his high school career with 2,159 passing yards and 24 touchdowns with eight interceptions. He also had 1,057 rushing yards and 15 more scores.

Pleaded Former New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Lenny Dykstra has pleaded not guilty to grand theft auto and drug possession charges. The 48-year-old entered his plea in Los Angeles County Superior Court and remains in jail on $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to court July 11. Dykstra was charged with 25 counts and faces up to 12 years in prison if convicted. Prosecutors say Dykstra, his accountant and a friend leased three high-end cars from a Southern California dealership this year by providing phony information and claiming credit through a phony business. Officers who arrested Dykstra at his Los Angeles home in April say they found cocaine, Ecstasy and synthetic human growth hormone. On Monday, Dykstra pleaded not guilty to bankruptcy fraud in federal court.

Sponsoring Budweiser became the first American title sponsor of FA Cup as organizers try to enhance the competition’s global status and ensure the final is restored as the English season’s showpiece finale. Budweiser agreed to a three-year deal worth a reported $39 million. Soccer’s oldest domestic cup competition will be known as “The FA Cup with Budweiser.”
