Elvis’ daughter promises new movie

From Wire Reports

Over the years, Lisa Marie Presley has become dissatisfied with movies chronicling her father’s life, so she just might make a film about the rock ‘n’ roll icon. The daughter of Elvis Presley said she has been in talks about a movie, though she didn’t offer a timetable. “There’s not been anything done properly with him yet, you know, that has satisfied me in terms of capturing everything,” she said. “It will happen, though.” Presley was at Graceland this week to attend the opening of a new exhibit. “Elvis Through His Daughter’s Eyes” is a personal look at Lisa Marie and includes her baby shoes, her first record player and a small white fur coat – touchstones from her days living at Graceland, her father’s longtime Memphis home until his death Aug. 16, 1977. Presley lived at Graceland until she was 5, which is when her mother Priscilla divorced Elvis and moved with Lisa Marie to California.

Boss et al. to appear at the Apollo

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform at Harlem’s historic Apollo Theater next month. The March 9 show is three days after the release of Springsteen’s “Wrecking Ball” album. The Apollo propelled the careers of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson. Springsteen references Harlem in the songs “Jungleland” and “Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?” But it’s his first Apollo appearance.

Tebow calls an audible

Tim Tebow has canceled an appearance at a revival organized by a controversial Ohio preacher. The Denver Broncos quarterback and dedicated Christian had been scheduled to speak at a three-day Columbus event in March led by televangelist Rod Parsley. Robbie Tebow said his brother’s speakers’ bureau hadn’t researched the event before saying yes to the invitation. Parsley teaches that God wants the faithful to be rich. Last year, he asked followers to donate more than $1 million to ward off satanic attacks. In the 2008 presidential election, Sen. John McCain disowned an endorsement from Parsley.
