First-place Moscow boys stop Sandpoint

Derek Pennington hit five 3-pointers and finished with 22 points – 17 in the second half – as Moscow stayed perfect in the Inland Empire 4A League with a 64-50 win over the Sandpoint Saturday in Sandpoint.

Lane Brooks scored 13 points and Nick Ellison added 10 for Moscow (8-10, 4-0).

The Bears outscored Sandpoint (7-12, 1-3) by 14 points in the second half.

Jackson Ollin tossed in a team-high 20 points for the Bulldogs.

Pullman 41, Medical Lake 31: Corey Langerveld led all scorers with 18 points as the Greyhounds (17-2, 10-1) beat the visiting Cardinals (7-12, 4-7). Kendyl Dunn scored a team-high 12 points for Medical Lake.

Cheney 59, Clarkston 47: After a lackluster start, the Blackhawks (9-9, 4-6) came alive in the second half and beat the visiting Bantams (10-8, 4-6). C.J. Skillingstad, John Gingrich and Jon Miller scored a combined 42 points for Cheney – with 32 in the second half. Drew Adams led Clarkston with 15 points.

Timberlake 63, Priest River 59: Mason Cramer scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Tigers (12-5, 4-2) to a narrow win over the visiting Spartans (5-10, 1-2) at Spirit Lake. Johnny Hayden had 12 points and J.D. Page scored seven of his nine points in the fourth quarter for Timberlake. Dalton Sommer led Priest River with 13 points.

Panorama tourney

Wellpinit 73, Northport 34: Greg Wynecoop scored 18 points on 9-of-13 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Redskins (16-5) claimed the top seed to the district tournament with a rout of the Mustangs (17-3) in Kettle Falls. Brodie Ford added 16 points for Wellpinit. Northport, which enters districts as the Panorama League’s second seed, got 12 points from Frederik Verhaeghe. The District 7 1B tournament starts Tuesday.

Cusick 70, Selkirk 53: Alec Bluff made 15 of 18 free throws and finished with 19 points to lead the Panthers (10-11) past the visiting Rangers (9-13). Marshal Rankin added 12 points for Cusick, which claimed the third seed to districts. Selkirk, which was led by Dominic Cain’s 15 points, is the fourth seed.

Bi-County 2B

Northwest Christian 78, Colfax 62: Dakota Winward led three players in double figures with 23 points as the Crusaders (19-0, 15-0) beat the visiting Bulldogs (14-5, 12-3). Kwinn Hanson had 19 points and Reuben Clark chipped in 15 for Northwest Christian. Colfax got a team-high 14 points from Brandon Gfeller.

Reardan 62, Liberty 53: Roy Walser scored 20 points to lead the Indians (11-8, 10-5) to a win over the visiting Lancers (7-12, 4-11). Dylan Salsbury led Liberty with 13 points.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 75, Kettle Falls 37: Jake Dewald had 15 points, six rebounds and five steals and Dylan Hartz added 11 points and seven assists as the Broncos (10-9, 7-8) cruised past the visiting Bulldogs (2-18, 0-16).

Davenport 77, St. George’s 49: Wyatt Evers scored 18 points and Joey Gunning added 17 as the Gorillas (14-5, 10-5) whipped the visiting Dragons (10-9, 8-7). Erik Muelheims led St. George’s with 14 points.

Southeast 1B

St. John-Endicott 82, Pomeroy 66: Kaleb Simon scored 23 points and Cole McCanna added 15 points and 10 assists as the Eagles (13-6, 12-2) topped the visiting Pirates (9-10, 7-7). Tanner Feider and Mitch Ruchert scored 16 points each for Pomeroy.

Rosalia 68, LaCrosse-Washtucna 48: Damian Loucks hit five 3-pointers and finished with 31 points as the Spartans (11-9, 8-6) beat the visiting Tigercats (7-12, 5-8).
