Royal serenade planned for queen

From Wire Reports

Some of the world’s biggest pop stars will perform in front of Buckingham Palace on June 4 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, palace officials said Tuesday.

The lineup will include Beatle Paul McCartney, singers Elton John and Shirley Bassey and popular boy band JLS. Longtime favorites Cliff Richard and Tom Jones will also perform.

Concert organizers said that many more stars, including some from America and Australia, will also be on the bill, with details to be released in the coming months.

The event is a centerpiece in the queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, which have already kicked off to mark her 60 years on the throne.

Kardashian baseball on block

The Minnesota Twins are cutting ties with the Kardashians, too.

Well, sort of.

The team announced Tuesday it will auction off a baseball autographed by reality starlet Kim Kardashian and her ex-husband Kris Humphries. They signed the ball before a Twins game last July, when the Minnesota native and NBA player Humphries threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

After a highly publicized wedding last August, the celebrity couple’s marriage ended 72 days later when Kardashian filed for divorce.

The auction proceeds will go to the team’s charity arm, the Minnesota Twins Community Fund.

Online bidding ends on Valentine’s Day.

Brown set to perform at Grammys

Chris Brown will perform at this year’s Grammy Awards, the event where his career almost ended three years ago.

Brown assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna at a pre-Grammy party in 2009 and is serving five years of probation for the felony attack. A source told the Associated Press that Brown will hit the stage at Sunday’s show.

After his attack on Rihanna, Brown’s reputation plummeted. But he has since bounced back, releasing multiple mixtapes and the multi-hit album, “F.A.M.E. (Forgiving All My Enemies).” It’s nominated for three Grammys.

Rihanna will also perform at the show. She’s up for four awards.
