NFL playoffs: Looking ahead

Saints at 49ers

Saturday: 1:30 p.m.

TV: Fox 28

Drew Brees threw for 466 yards and three touchdowns in the Saints’ 45-28 wild-card round win over Detroit. After a first-round bye, Jim Harbaugh’s 49ers head into their first postseason appearance in nine years.

Broncos at Patriots

Saturday: 5 p.m.

TV: CBS

Tim Tebow was back to his old tricks against Pittsburgh, leading another improbable win. The Patriots had a first-round bye but were busy, hiring Josh McDaniels – Tebow’s coach last year – as an offensive assistant.

Texans at Ravens

Sunday: 10 a.m.

TV: CBS

The 10-year-old Texans won their first playoff game, and now have the daunting task of facing Ray Lewis and the Ravens on their home field. Baltimore is 8-0 at home this season, including a 29-14 win over Houston in Week 6.

Giants at Packers

Sunday: 1:30 p.m.

TV: Fox 28

It didn’t take the Giants long after their Dec. 4 loss to the Packers to start pining for payback. In one of the best games of the season, the Giants nearly took the Packers to overtime but lost 38-35 on a last-minute field goal.
