Escaped North Idaho inmate turns self in

Associated Press
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A state prison inmate who walked away from a job site in Nampa is back in custody after turning himself in to authorities in Coeur d’Alene. Idaho Department of Correction Spokesman Jeff Ray says 43-year-old Richard H. Michalies showed up at the Kootenai County Jail Friday afternoon. Michalies was assigned to the Nampa Community Work Center and was reported missing Thursday. He is serving a 12-year sentence for forgery convictions in Bonner and Nez Perce counties and was on track to be released from prison in June 2015.
