Workshop offers Medicare counseling
A free workshop presented by a state program will compare Medicare health care plans and explain what they cover.
The workshop is designed to guide people about to turn 65 into Medicare or to help those who are already enrolled better understand it, said Suzi Hokonson, a volunteer with State Health Insurance Benefits Advisors.
SHIBA is a program of the Consumer Protection Division of the Office of the Washington Insurance Commissioner. Its goal is to provide free, unbiased health care counseling.
The Medicare workshop will take place twice this month in the Spokane area:
• May 24: 6:30 to 9 p.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 314 S. Spruce St. in Browne’s Addition.
• May 26: 1 to 3 p.m. at the East Valley Library, 12004 E. Main Ave. in Spokane Valley.
