UCLA’s Mora gets six-year extension

LOS ANGELES – UCLA has agreed to a six-year contract extension with head coach Jim Mora through 2019.
The Bruins announced the deal Tuesday, fending off advances to Mora by Washington, his alma mater.
Mora is 18-8 in two seasons at UCLA, with a second bowl game upcoming.
UCLA routed rival Southern California 35-14 at the Coliseum on Saturday, Mora’s second straight win over the Trojans.
Mora was a walk-on defensive back at Washington, and once described the school as his dream job. The Huskies have a coaching vacancy after Steve Sarkisian left Monday for USC.
UCLA won the Pac-12 South last season and finished second this year (9-3, 6-3).
