Braves prevail in OT
Dylan Tappe scored 38 seconds from the end of the overtime period on a power play to give the Spokane Braves a 2-1 victory over Castlegar on Monday night at Eagles Ice-A-Rena in the Kootenai International Junior Hockey League playoffs.
It allowed the Braves to cut the Rebels’ lead in the best-of-7 first-round series to 2-1 after Castlegar won the first two games on its home ice, 6-0 and 12-1.
Matt Zenzola made 50 saves for the Braves as the teams launched 51 shots each. Coleman Macdonald scored a second-period goal for Spokane.
