Obituary: Brooks, Judy Kay

Age 69

BROOKS, Judy Kay (Age 69) Of Spokane and formerly of Oakesdale, went to be with Jesus in the Kingdom of Heaven on July 3, 2013 at her home in Spokane, Washington.

Graveside inurnment ser-vices will be held at the Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev.

Erik Buhl of the Oakesdale Presbyterian Church officiating.

A potluck reception and celebration of life will follow at the Oakesdale McCoy Museum at 2:30 p.m. Judy was born on April 22, 1944 to Edward and Lucille (Litzenberger) Brooks at Colfax, Washington.

She grew up in Oakesdale and graduated from Oakesdale High School class of 1962.

Judy worked numerous jobs throughout her life, with her last job working as a caregiver in a private assistant living home in Green Bluff, WA.

She had a love for the elderly and all animals as well as a passion for home interior decorating, shopping, and cooking for her family.

The very most important thing to Judy was her family and she loved them all very much and cherished her grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her children Lisa Tanner, Jeff (Debbie) Tanner, and Angie (Allan) Tanner-Huestis; grandchildren CJ, Hannah and Coltin Tanner; brother Steve (Linda) James as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Edward Brooks, mother Lucille James, sister Lana Brooks and her stepfather Claude “Ferdie” James.

She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
