Juliaetta truck driver dies in crash

SANTA, Idaho — Authorities say a 19-year-old Juliaetta man died after the log truck he was driving on Tuesday afternoon left the roadway and overturned. Idaho State Police says Zachary Cook was driving north on state Highway 3 in Benewah County when he failed to negotiate a turn just north of Santa. The Coeur d’Alene Press reports Cook was pronounced dead at the scene. The Benewah County Sheriff’s Office and St. Maries Fire Department responded to the crash.
