Boeing 777X fast facts

• The first plane is targeted for delivery by the end of this decade.

• The plane is expected to carry as many as 400 passengers and be 20 percent more fuel efficient than the 777.

• Its wings are expected to be made from composites, the same high-tech plastics that make up most of Boeing’s new 787.

• The plane is meant to compete with the new Airbus A350, which is undergoing flight testing.
