Obituary: Tyler, Betty Lorraine

Age 83

TYLER, Betty Lorraine (Age 83) Our beloved mother, grandmother passed away on September 28, 2013 in Spokane.

She was born on July 16, 1930 to Ernest and Mabel Anderson.

As a child, Betty lived on the family farm in Deary, ID then moved to Spokane in her teens.

She graduated from Central Valley High School in 1948, then from Kinman Business School in 1951.

She married Gene Tyler on September 19, 1953.

She was a homemaker, and in the 1970s sold real estate for Sherwood & Roberts.

Betty was actively involved at the time in the “Mothers of Twins” clubs, and the PTO in the Central Valley School District.

She loved her cats, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Don Tyler (Laura) from Moscow, ID, Wayne Tyler, Norman Tyler, Larry Tyler, Diane Nicklas (John), all from Spokane; six grandchildren: Kristine Tyler, Zachary Bailey (Abbie) from Boise, ID, Bryanna Bailey, Amy Nicklas, Jacob and Joseph Nicklas, and also numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, in 2007; son, Douglas Tyler, in 1999; and son-in-law, Bryan Bailey, in 1992.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Providence Sacred Heart.

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Spokane, or SpokAnimal.

Memorial services will be held in the Colonial Chapel at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA, on Saturday, October 5th at 2:00pm.

At a later date, inurnment will be at Pines Cemetery in Spokane Valley, WA.
